Lately, I have been devouring books like nobody's business.
(Not literally, that would be weird. And also gross, paper tastes bad.)
First was Divergent, which I physically could not put down. Except for the one time I threw it across the room because I was so angry. And y'all, it made me feel feelings.
Then I read Anna and the French Kiss, which I think everyone should read. It's great. Great in that horrible way that makes you hate your life because your life is not that book.
Then, Lola and the Boy Next Door, the companion to Anna and the French Kiss. Also completely wonderful.
And then, on Wednesday, I read Crossed.
If you read Lauren's blog, (which, why wouldn't you?) I'm sure you have already seen her spectacular post on it.
I thought Divergent made me feel feelings?
No.
Crossed made me feel all the feelings.
As in, sweet Lauren and I exchanged over 200 texts in one day about Crossed.
So...if you haven't read it, go read Matched, then read Crossed.
And now, I'm searching for my next book.
Do you have any suggestions, dear readers?
What have you been reading lately?
I'll read anything and everything.
PS. Wow, can you tell I like YA lit?
You should check out A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. It's not really a political book, it's more about the lives of women amidst all the politics going on in their country. I really loved it. =)
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself that as soon as the semester is over, I will read all of those books. But at the moment, I am way out of the loop. Can't wait to read them!
ReplyDeleteI've been dying to read Divergent FOR.EV.ER. But school has taken over my life and I no longer have any free reading time :( However, I loveloveloved my ARC of Crossed this summer--Ky kills me. The best.
ReplyDeletePretty sure I need to add all these books to my to-read list! I'm currently reading Delirium right now and loving it!
ReplyDeleteCheck out http://www.laurengetsliteral.com/ if you want more ideas. Lauren is lovely (I've met her!) and does awesome review for YA lit!
Hiii. I just finished Divergent. It was pretty good, but not as good as the book I started afterwards, which is The Scorpio Races. Aaah. It's wonderful. It's about horses, which I like. And about a British island somewhere, which I also like.
ReplyDeleteSo this is a recommendation on a book I haven't even finished, because I just want to share it.
I can't wait to read those Anna & The French Kiss, and Lola & The Boy Next Door. Some day, I swear. Oh and Matched as well. It's too much.
